The five competing songs in this year's Irish national selection will be aired today in full at the Derek Mooney Radio Show live on RTÉ Radio 1. Don Mescall, Jedward, Nikki Kavanagh, Bling and the Vard Sisters will fight for the Irish ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
This year Ireland decided to change their format for Eurosong, as they have bigger expectations from their representative at Europe's favourite music show. Five mentors were selected by RTÉ to train the five competing artists in this year's Irish national selection.
This is how the line-up of Eurosong 2011 is looking like :
- Don Mescall – Talking with Jennifer (Ronan Hardiman & Don Mescall ) – mentored by Ronan Hardiman
- Jedward featuring Rebecca Creighton– Lipstick (Dan Priddy, Lars Jensen and Martin Larson) – mentored by Caroline Downey-Desmond
- Bling– Shine On (Patrick Mahoney) – mentored by Willie Kavanagh
- Vard Sisters – Send me an angel (Liam Lawton) – mentored by Liam Lawton
- Nikki Kavanagh – Falling (Christina Schilling, Camilla Gottschalck, Jonas Gladnikoff and Hanif Sabzevari) – mentored by David Hayes
The five songs will be played in full today during the Derek Mooney Show live on RTÉ Radio 1. The show will start at 16:00 CET. You can listen to it live by following here.
Update : During the radio show it was revealed that the regional juries will be located in Cork, Dublin, Dundalk, Galway, Limerick and Sligo.
