Roman Lob at Eurovision 2012

Roman Lob (Düsseldorf, 1990) is a German singer-songwriter. He started his career singing in various bands and partook in the talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar 2007 (“Germany searches for the Superstar 2007”, the German version of Pop Idol).

Together with singer Axel Fischer he formed the boyband G12P-Germany 12 Points and submitted the song When the boys come for Eurovision 2008, yet the track was not chosen to compete in the national selection.

In 2012, Roman Lob had his big breakthrough when he won the German selection Unser Star für Baku. He thus represented his country at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan, with the song Standing still, composed and written by well-known singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum, Steve Robson and Wayne Hector.

The artist eventually reached a respectable 8th place in the Grand Final, receiving 110 points.

Roman Lob is diligently working on his career and is currently starring in Germany’s biggest musical revue The One at Berlin’s Friedrichstadt-Palast, with costumes by French designer Jean-Paul Gaultier.
