RTP, the Portuguese national broadcaster has been complimented by the EBU for organizing one of the best Eurovision editions ever.

The 2018 Eurovision host broadcaster RTP received a letter from the EBU thanking it for organizing an extraordinary Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon and complimenting the Portuguese broadcaster for having organized one of the best Eurovision editions of all time.

Portugal and RTP hosted the Eurovision Song Contest for the very first time in Eurovision history thanks to Salvador Sobral‘s epic victory in 2017. RTP organized one of the most cost effective contests of  the last decade, garnering circa 186 million viewers.

RTP worked from strength to strength in hosting the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in the best of ways and excelled in showcasing an entertaining and dazzling contest. Lisbon also hosted one of the most innovative Eurovision editions of the last 10 years, coming up with a magnificent stage without LED screens.

Israel’s Netta was crowned the winner of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest after a nail biting voting sequence during the Grand Final.

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest was held in Lisbon on 8, 10 and 12 May at the Altice Arena.
