Donna McCaul will compete in the Maltese selection. The Irish representative in the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest will join J. Anvil on stage as a backing vocal. Unlike recent years, all vocals of the competing songs in the Malta Eurovision Festival will be performed live.

The Irish singer will be in Malta to support J. Anvil. The latter will try to get the Maltese ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest. He debuted in 2005 and placed third with his 1930’s style song You. This year’s appearance will be his fourth attempt.

Donna McCaul will be one of the backing vocals in the song Topsy-Turvy penned by foreign and local writers. Donna McCaul went on a soloist career following her Eurovision appearance in Kiev. Recently the Irish singer launched her debut single Just the Way It Is. Donna competed with her brother Joseph with the song entitled Love? The duo placed fourteenth in the first semi-final thus failed to qualify to the final.
