LIVE: First round of Dora

Tonight at 2010 CET the first elimination round of Dora, the Croatian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the capital Zagreb.

The show has begun and the presenters Aleksandar Kostadinov and Leona Paraminski have been introduced.

Now the songwriter Milna Vlaovic comes in as an expertguest, followed by Dino Jelusic, the 2003 Junior Eurovision winner, then the singer Gabi Novak.

Monika Lelas is now introducing the contestants to the audience, who are now seated on a sofa in the studio.

The first singer, Damir Kedzois now having a biography shown about them, including height, weight, likes and dislikes and star sign!

He is singing 'Crazy Little think called Love'. He is wearing the classic 60's American bad boy look of jeans, white T-shirt and leather jacket, accompanied byfemale backing singers and several musicians.

Ivana Brkasic is blonde and performs in a mini dress, singing 'Iznad Oblaka' (Above the clouds). She is carrying a pillow for some reason which she uses as a performance aid. She is accompanied by two male guitarists. Ivana gets a huge reaction from studio audience, with her name being chanted.

The third artist to be introduced is Artemija Stanic. She will be singing Cher's song 'Believe'. 'Believe' She has frizzy hair, wears a white baggy jumpsuit, big 15cm red stillettos.Even with the autotuner, she sounds a bit off-key, with an almost masculine voice.

There is now a break from the acts, as the presenters talk to the judges for their expert opnions. Gabi Novak is saying how hard it is to chose a winner as they are all so good. Dino Jelusic is up next, followed by Milna Vlaovic. The first three acts are now having a chat and a joke with the presenters, and we are off to adverts.

Act 4 is Miro Tomic, and he is singing the up-tempo 'Sjecam se prvog poljupca' ('I remember the first kiss'). He is wearing a suit, and the audience are dancing along.

Act 5 is Mila Soldatic, she is singing 'Wuthering Heights' by Kate Bush. She is a soprano opera voice. She is wearing a dress with a very, very long train.

Act 6 – Tina Vukov, who is is a veteran from Dora 2006 and 2007,is a very petite and young singer. She is singing 'S vremena na vrijeme' (From time to time). She is sitting on a stool alone on the stage. The audience are clapping along enthusiastically to the song.

We are now half way through tonight's contests and it is time to talk the judges again.

The last three contestants are now having their chat with the presenter.

Act 7 – Mario Sambrailo is singing 'Sway'. He has also wearing a suit with a white shirt without a tie, and a red rose in his suit. He has just thrown the rose towards Gabi Novak and Milna Vlaovic.

Act 8 is Sabrina Hebiri. She sings 'Tempera' a Gibonni song. She is wearing a small, shiny black dress. She has strangely left the stage and gone to stand with the musicians.

Act 9 is Dora Benc, singing 'This is the life' by Amy MacDonald tonight. She is wearing a black dress, but not as shiny and clingy as Sabrina Hebiri's. The song was recieved well in the studio.

The last three acts will be Valentina Briski, Jelena Vanjek and Jacques Houdek.

Act number ten is Jelena Vanjek She is singing 'Gdje Dunav ljuvb nebo' (Where the Danube kisses the sky). She is wearing a black ballgown, with some strange spikes on the shoulders and has short shocking pink hair. There is huge applause and people chanting her name.

Act 11- Tonight's penultimate act is Valentina Briski, who is singing 'Monday morning'. Her dress is a short bright yellow number, with black stillettos.

Act 12 – The final act tonight is Jacques Houdek, Dora 2004 runner-up, who is singing 'Molitva' by the Croatian rock band Parnji Valjak, not to be confused with the 2007 ESC winner. Jacques tips the scales at 180kg! He is the best recieved performer of the night, with people wearing T-shirts with 'I love Jacques' on them.

That's the twelve acts for tonight's show, so over to the judges for their opinions about the last three performers. Gabi Novak is still holding the rose that Mario Sambrailo threw during his performance.

The televoting has just opened now for the next 10 minutes, and we are having a reprise of all the acts. Six acts will qualify tonight. Feminnem is the interval act, who are doing a Eurovision medley of Ein Bischen Frieden, My number one and Fairytale.

Televoting has now closed and we await the results.

Feminem start another Medley featuring winning entries of Love shine a light and Hold me now.
