Nina, the 1989 Spanish Eurovision representative, is back in Operación Triunfo, which is currently running its 8th edition on Spanish private television channel Telecinco. Nina achieved a 6th placing with her song Nacida para amar in Laussane at the Eurovision Song Contest. She came back to the Eurovision scene in 2002 when she coached Rosa in the first edition of Operación Triunfo which kicked off in 2001.

Nina was the director of the Operación Triunfo academy in its early days, to be more precise the 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions. These 3 editions were responsible for to select the Eurovision representatives for Spain: Rosa (2002), Beth (2003) andRamón (2004). She was also responsible to coach all three of them in their Eurovision quests.

Nina who is a multi talented artist, has been working in the musical Mamma Mia in the last few years. She is back in Operación Triunfo to coach more youngsingers in order to showcase their talent, which this year has kicked off its 8th edition.Backing vocalist to Rosa in Tallinn at the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest, Geno, has been invited to join the academy after 10 years. She was the first candidate to be evicted from the academy. Soraya, the 2009 Eurovision representative, shot to fame after her Operación Triunfo days.
