The national final will take place in the Malta Fairs & Convention Centre at Ta’ Qali. This is the fifth time, that the most prestigious festival on the island will take place at MFCC. The national TV station received a total number of 141 entries. 74 songs made it to the second phase which took place this weekend at PBS studios. Both local and foreign writers worked with local singers who submitted their song/s for the Malta Eurovision Festival 2011.

23 songs will qualify to the final phase (part 1). Last year’s winner of L-Isfida show will be able to join the other artists. A mixture of a professional jury and public vote will select 16 finalists. The finalists will compete for the ticket to Düsseldorf on 12th February 2011. A mixture of an expert jury and tele-voting will select Malta’s 24th representative/s in the Eurovision Song Contest.
