Letitia Moisescu is one of the favourites to win Romania's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. As her entry, Dreaming of you, is currently second in our poll, esctoday.com decided to get a exclusive interview of the Romanian artist.
Hello! The international fans of the Eurovision Song Contest are very curious to know more about you. What should the european public know about Letitia Moisescu?
Hello! Hello! I'm a natural, very energetic girl, with a lot of love for everything around me and with a lot of commitment for my job as an artist. I'm singing since I was a little child. A very funny fact of my childhood is that I used to blackmail my brother with sweets in order to convince him to become my audience laughs . I had graduated the Sigismund Toduta musical highschool at classic canto section. I have performed even in Japan so I learnt to sing in Japanese and Korean languages. Over the years I had many artistic joys. I come from a traditionally music family as my mother is a Romanian traditional singer herself, so she has guided me to follow the classes of a music school. In one word I can say that music flows through my veins.
Your song was warmly welcomed by our readers. How would you describe your Eurovision entry, Dreaming of you?
I am extremly happy to hear that people love this song. This is exactly our wish: to make people love this song as we do. Dreaming of you is a melodic, full of delicate nuance, sensitivity and originality song.
This is your first participation in Romania's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. What's your opinion about how the preparations of the TVR team are ongoing?
From my point of view everything is well organized. I'm waiting for the final and I completly trust TVR.
Have you listened to the other competing songs? What's the competition level from your point of view?
Yes, I have listened to all the songs, but I can't say anything for the moment as all of them are at a high level. We shall see after the final who deserved to represent our country.
How much do you know about the Eurovision Song Contest? Do you usually watch this contest anually?
Yes I am, otherwise I wouldn't be here. I have all the Eurovision records since 1956 till 2010 as I consider it a great music treasure of the entire Europe.
Considering the fact that Romania ranked third this year in Oslo, do you feel any kind of pressure from the Romanian public in order to determine this year's Eurovision hopefuls to achieve a better result?
Every country's wish is to get the first place, but I wouldn't say that I feel any kind of pressure. The 3rd position is a very good placing and we hope that in 2011 Romania will finish as high as this year.
If you win the international final in Düsseldorf, what will be the first thing you would do when returning to Romania?
During the first days I'll be overexcited, then I will show my gratitude and satisfaction to those who stood beside me and believed in me and of course I'll start working on completing a new album and I'll try to encourage new talents by my success.
Do you have any message for the readers of esctoday.com?
On the first place – to believe in me. I wish that everyone will get to feel exactly what I'm feeling when I'm performing this song. In other words: "When words no longer have a purpose, music will have its say". I'm embracing you with great love and I hope that we will get to see each other in Düsseldorf.
esctoday.com would like to thankLetitia for this interview and wish her best of luck.
