France has confirmed its participation in Eurovision Song Contest 2011, Head of Delegation Bruno Berberes confirmed to eurovision-fr.net. This will make the country's 54th participation in the history of the contest.

The choice of the artist would be internal, just like in the three past years. Some changes to the selction method might be made towards the 2012 edition of the contest, eurovision-fr.net reports.

Last year, France was represented by Jessy Matador and the song Allez! Ollá! Olé!, ending up 12th in the final. The country has won the contest 5 times – in1958, 1960, 1962, 1969 and1977.
