She made her sacrifices to look her best at the big event tonight: not only that German participant Lou lost 11 kilos since she won the German final back in March. As she wrote in her contest-diary in Bild, she had a little face job, too.

“Last week, I had a Botox treatment in a beauty clinic in Munich. This is a nerve poison which lets your wrinkles disappear”, Lou confessed in her diary. “I had some injections on the forehead and beneath the eyes”, she explained and claimed to be very happy with the result. “I can recommend this surgery to every woman. I simply feel prettier now”. If her new face will improve her chances in Riga, we will know tonight.

In the meantime, German TV host Axel Bulthaupt, who presented the national final Countdown Grand Prix during the last six years, declared his demission. Tonight he will host ARD's Grand-Prix-Show on Hamburg's world-famous Reeperbahn, which will be broadcasted from 20:15 CET and features stars like the Olsen Brothers and Nicole. He will also give Germany's points to Riga later on, which will be his last Eurovision job. He explained that he feels he has done this job long enough.
