The 3 finalists of the internet Swiss pre-selection for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest have been announced today by DRS3. Dominique Borriello, Duke and The Colors and Ilira are the lucky qualifers for the Swiss national final.
The Swiss broadcaster SF, together with DRS 3, RTS and RSI have chosen this year for an internet selection to find the Swiss entry for the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest. This interesting internet selection has attracted various artists from different countries. In total there were 327 songs submitted. Several Euro-artists have sent their entries.
During 10 days everyone had the opportunity to vote online for their favourite songs. From 327 only 12 songs will qualify for the decider live show on 11 December 2010. 7 out of 12 finalists will be selected by SF from the results of 50% internet voting / 50% expert jury.
5 other places for the national final have been allocated to three radio television stations. RTS (French speaking) and RSI (Italian speaking) each have 1 dedicated place in the national final. RTS is going to select internally their song for the final, while RSI has already announced the first finalist for the Swiss national final. The singer Sarà Orpheline with her song Surrender has won the Italian-language part of the Swiss selection.
3 places for the final have been allocated to DRS3 (German speaking radio station). DRS3 has chosen 10 songs for a poll on their site where everybody could cast their vote.
The voting has been closed this morning by DRS and the 3 first places have been automatically qualified for the final.
