Israel at Eurovision

The state of Israel firstly entered the competition in 1973 and has reached the Eurovision top 3 times in the past, namely in 1978, 1979 and most recently in 1998, when Dana International became the first transsexual artist to win the event, with the song Diva. With three victories and a total of 19 Top 10 placings out of 40 participations, Israel is considered as one of the successful Eurovision countries.

Since the introduction of the semi-finals in 2004, the nation has been eliminated in the semi-final 6 times, the last one being in 2014, with Mei Finegold. Last year, the country was represented by the winner of the talent show The Next Star 2017 IMRI, and the track I feel alive. He came 23rd in the Grand Final with 39 points.

Israel will appear in the 1st half of the first semi-final on 8 May. The 63rd Eurovision Song Contest is going to take place on 8, 10 and 12 May at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.

Will Netta confirm the odds’ predictions this May in Lisbon?
