Jonatan Cerrada, France 2004 representative, stated this weekend at the OGAE Spain congress that he would like to make a Eurovision comeback representing his native country, Belgium, or Spain, where his parents were born. However, Jonatan would only return to the contest if an internal selection method is used.
The Belgian-born singer, who has been touring France and Belgium with a musical based on Charles Aznavour's songs, participated last weekend in the 5th OGAE Spain congress. During the meeting, Jonatan shared his memories on Eurovision with the fans in Madrid. Jonatan recalls Eurovision as a "unique experience" in his musical career and "one of the greatest things" he has ever done.
That is why he wouldn't mind to return to the contest at all, either representing Belgium or Spain, but with a condition: Jonatan rules out online selection systems, like those used in both countries, being an internal selection method -like that of France- the best option for the singer.
Jonatan Cerrada represented France in Istanbul, 2004, with the song À chaque pas, coming 15th.
