Cyprus: CyBC throws a special party for Eleni Foureira

CyBC, the Cypriot national broadcaster threw a special party earlier this month in honour of the 2018 Cypriot Eurovision hopeful Eleni Foureira.

The stunning 2018 Cypriot Eurovision representative, Eleni Foureira flew to Nicosia last week where she attended a special party hosted in her honour by the Cypriot national broadcaster.

The event was attended by CyBC officials, local media and journalists and former Cypriot Eurovision representatives Hovig and Minus One among others.

Eleni is happy and honoured to represent Cyprus at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

CyBC surprised Eleni with a birthday cake as it was her birthday.

Eleni Foureira was selected via an internal selection in order to defend the Cypriot colours at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. She will fly to Lisbon with Fuego!

Eleni Foureira hails from the Albanian city of Fier where she was born in 1987. The Albanian-born Greek star has earned herself a place in the Greek music scene with her powerful voice and stage presence. She has released a total of 3 albums and has received numerous awards throughout her career.

Cyprus in Eurovision

Aphrodite’s island graced the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 1981 with the group Island.

The Mediterranean country is yet to win the competition and achieved its best results in the contest in 1982, 1997 and 2004 when it placed 5th.

Cyprus is set to compete in the First Semi-final of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest on 8 May in Lisbon.
