Broadcaster SF produced a documantary about Swiss entertainer Nella Martinetti, who also co-wrote some of Switzerland's most successful entries in the Eurovision Song Contest. The film is called Nella Martinetti – Ein Leben zwischen Applaus und Abgrund (Nella Martinetti – A life between the applause and the abyss).

The documentary deals with Nella Martinetti's career as a singer and songwriter as well as with her private life and her close relationship with the media. The singer herself says that she is "addicted to the spotlight" and that music has always meant everything to her. However, since the 1990s, she has mainly been in the spotlight due to the extensive coverage of her private live in the yellow press. In 2009, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
