Malmö’s Melodifestivalen semi-final has just come to an end! As Sweden’s search for their Eurovision 2018 is going on, we now have the results of the show!
On the way to the final
Another enjoyable show was hosted in Sweden by David Lindgren and Fredrik Svensson. 7 acts battled for the 4 available spots in order to continue chasing Sweden’s golden Eurovision ticket. Two of them are now directly qualified to Melodifestivalen’s Grand Final at Stockholm’s Friends Arena on 10 March and two to the Second Chance on 3 March. But let’s see the results in detail:
Who are tonight’s finalists?
Joining the 4 finalists of the previous semi-final show tonight are:
- Martin Almgren – A Bitter Lullaby
- Jessica Andersson – Party Voice
Second chance
Whilst a second chance will be given to the following two acts:
- Mendez – Everyday
- Moncho – Cuba Libre
Hence, the remaining 3 acts are bidding farewell to the 2018 Swedish national selection:
- Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän – Min Dröm – 5th place
- Dotter – Cry– 6th place
- Barbi Escobar – Stark – 7th place
The full breakdown of all semi-finals will be revealed by SVT after the competition’s end on 10 March.
Meloodifestivalen 2018 resumes next Saturday with its 4th and last semi-final evening, set to be held much northern in Sweden, in the city of Örnsköldsvik.

Sweden has been drawn to compete in the 2nd half of the second semi-final evening on 10 May. The 63rd Eurovision Song Contest will be taking place on 8, 10 and 12 May at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, Portugal.
