Azerbaijan will start searching for their representative in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Germany, in September, Head of Delegation Adil Kerimli has told the Azerbaijani Press Agency.

Moreover, Mr Kerimli went on to say that Azerbaijani composers are the preferred option to pen the country's entry for 2011, unlike this year, when the Eurovision preparations were carried out by a foreign team. Azerbaijan Head of Delegation said: "We want to play the song of Azerbaijani composers at the contest next year. We tried it last year but our composers did not make any effort for it".

Azerbaijan was represented at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest by Safura with the song Drip drop, finishing on the 5th place in Oslo.
