The French postcard

The 2018 French postcard has been filmed in the iconic and beautiful city of Viana de Castelo.

Madame Monsieur, the 2018 French Eurovision hopefuls have recorded their Eurovision postcard in Viana do Castelo and had the opportunity to visit the city for a few days.

Located in the Minho region, Viana do Castelo is the northernmost coastal city of Portugal and is considered the Portuguese capital of folklore. The French postcard depicts the French hopefuls visiting Viana do Castelo’s Cathedral and shows them passing through a massive door, behind which a huge surprise awaits them. The two artists were given an extraordinary welcome party by the inhabitants of the city, who were dressed in the typical clothes of the region. In the midst of the colourful celebration the French duo learned a few steps of Vira, a Portuguese traditional dance.

Madame Monsieur were thrilled with their experience and commented:

It was the first time we were together in Portugal and we marveled at the beauty of Viana do Castelo. In the Sanctuary of Santa Luzia, the view from the top of the hill left us speechless! The food is incredible and the people of Viana are incredibly welcoming. We are already thinking of returning, perhaps after Eurovision, to spend a few more days in Viana and discover the region.
