It seems that the audience of the Icelandic national selection Söngvakeppnin 2018 will be treated a great deal of surprises! Following the announcement of Robin Bengtsson’s appearance in the Grand Final of the competition, there is one former Eurovision winner who comes to join this year’s party.

And it is…

Emmelie de Forest, the Danish girl who won the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, will also be there on 3 March to perform her winning song Only teardrops. Her Eurovision entry has undoubtedly been much loved and popular among the Icelanders, as they brought it in the 1st place of the country’s charts that year and they generously awarded to Denmark their set of 12 points.

Here’s her victorious performance on the stage of Malmö Arena:

Svala coundn’t be absent!

The event will also feature the presence and performance of its last year’s winner and 2017 Eurovision entrant of the country, Svala, who will sing her Eurovision entry Paper.

Svala performed in the 1st semi-final of Eurovision 2017, but she did not manage to qualify to the final, coming 15th out of its 18 participants. This was a 3rd consecutive semi-final elimination of the country in the contest. Do you believe this series of poor results will be overthrown in 2018?
