RTP, the Portuguese national broadcaster, is all set to embrace the forthcoming 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with open arms. This year’s Eurovision host broadcaster will be airing a 2-part programme today, focusing entirely on the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

Hold your horses, boys and girls! The official countdown to the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest has begun! The clock is ticking and Lisbon is gearing up to welcome thousands of Eurovision fans come May!

Eurovisão, Dia Um – Faltam 103 Dias (Eurovision Day One- 103 Days left) will be disclosing the latest information on the 2018 Eurovision preparations and giving the Portuguese viewers an insight to the contest.

RTP’s special Eurovision coverage

Eurovisão, Dia Um – Faltam 103 Dias will consist of two parts:

  • The first part will run from 11:00-14:00 CET, and will include a live feed at 13:00 CET with Lisbon’s City Hall for the Host Insignia Handover Ceremony and the Semi-final Allocation Draw
  • The second part will run from 15:44 CET-18.30 CET

About the programme

RTP will be dedicating the full day to special Eurovision coverage, devoted to the forthcoming 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

The programme will include the following features: interviews with the key Eurovision 2018 persons and Eurovision experts, feedback on the current ongoing Eurovision 2018 preparations in Lisbon, the latest developments, details on the organization of the show, etc.

There will be lots of surprises and many Eurovision 2018 details will be unveiled during the course of the day.

At 13:00 CET, RTP will go live with Lisbon’s City Hall for the official Host City Handover Ceremony and the Semi-final Allocation Draw.

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held in Lisbon on 8, 10 and 12 May with a total of 43 countries battling for the Grand Prix in the competition.
