Madame Monsieur’s competing song in France’s Destination Eurovision 2018 selection, Mercy, is already charting on iTunes in France, taking the second spot as we get closer to Saturday’s French final of the national selection.

Following last night’s second semi-final of Destination Eurovision 2018, the French national selection for Eurovision, the winner of the second semi-final, couple and duo Madame Monsieur, and their entry Mercy is currently 2nd in iTunes in France.

They currently beat Lisandro Cuxi and his song Eva, which was 6th in the charts after the first semi-final of the selection. Eva is now currently at number 81 on the French iTunes charts.

The closest Destination Eurovision contestant behind Madame Monsieur is Igit in 19th chart position with the song Lisboa Jérusalem, which also qualified last night, tying with Nassi‘s song Rêves de gamin.

Max Cinnamon, runner-up of the second semi-final, is currently 21st in the charts, whilst Nassi is number 51.

Who are Madame Monsieur?

Behind the duo name of Madame Monsieur are Emilie Satt and Jean-Karl Lucas; they both met back in 2008 before collaborating for the first time in 2009.

The couple, who have been dating since their initial meeting and collaboration, got married back in September 2015.

Madame Monsieur entered Destination Eurovision 2018 with one precise goal; to win the show and go to Lisbon to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest. Will they reach their Eurovision goal next week?

Can the duo win Destination Eurovision?

Both semi-finals of the French selection were pre-recorded, with many people who attended the event knowing the results in advance; Saturday’s final will be broadcast live and, therefore, nobody will know the winner until the final night.

Last Saturday, Lisandro Cuxi won the first semi-final of the selection with more points then the duo, earning 64 points from the Francophone and international jury combined against 56 points for Madame Monsieur.

Stay tuned for next Saturday’s French Destination Eurovision final to see who will be flying the French flag this coming may in Lisbon.
