Eurovision Song Contest winner in 1973, Anne Marie David spoke to esctoday.com during a short stay in Malta. The French singer will perform as a special guest in the International Malta Hit Song Contest.

Ann Marie David looked back towards her Eurovision victory with the song Tu te reconnaîtras. The French star referred to her second participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 1979. That year she competed for France and ended 19 points short of winning the contest again.

The singer explained the comparisons and contrasts in her two participations. Asked about her public support to this year’s Israeli representative Harel Skaat, the Eurovision winner explained how did the collaboration flourished. The winner for Luxembourg acknowledged Harel’s vocal abilities. Anne Marie David spoke about the French version of the Israeli entry Milim. Infact she wrote the French lyrics for the song.

Throughout the history of more than 50 years of the Eurovision Song Contest, the artist referred to the changes that the Eurovision Song Contest experienced. Anne Marie David won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1973 for Luxembourg, six years later she tried again, that year for France and received a respectable third place.
