Last night, a press meeting was held at the Hilton Hotel in Athens, where Milan Stankovic, the Serbian representative in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest met the Greek press but also the country's representative, Giorgos Alkaios.
Athens is the fourth stop in Milan Stankovic's promo tour this year. The Serbian representative in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest spent a few days in the Greek capital before he heads out for Belgium. After an exhausting schedule with interviews for all major TV channels, he met with Giorgos Alkaios, his Greek peer who came to see him at the Hilton where the press conference was held.
After Athens, Milan and Giorgos will both travel to Belgium where they will perform and promote their songs at the Eurovision party there together with the artists from Ireland, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Malta, Armenia and Belgium. Next and last stop in the Serbian promo tour will be Slovenia: " I would like to visit many more countries," says Milan, "but I am afraid it won't be possible. I would have loved to visit France and Germany among others" he told us.
The two artists feel very lucky for having uptempo, ethnic songs in a year when there is a ballad and mid tempo song galore. "We aim to put a smile on people's faces, people should have fun. This is the main reason why we are on stage." says Milan. And Giorgos adds: "And we want to share the moment and the positive energy. Music, just music, nothing else…."
When back in Serbia, Milan will be a special guest at the concert of Marija Serifovic, the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest winner. The concert takes place on 11th May at the home of the 2007 contest, the Beogradska Arena. Marija wholeheartedly supports Milan and t is quite possible that the two artists might record a duet together.
After Belgium, Giorgos Alkaios and Friends will travel to Portugal. This is a very special trip for Giorgos as he is half Portuguese on his mother's side.
