The 2017 Bulgarian Eurovision representative Kristian Kostov has released a brand new single in English.
Kristian releases new single
Kristian Kostov, Bulgaria’s representative at Eurovision 2017, has just released the music video for his new single The one.
This is his first English-language release following his Eurovision entry Beautiful mess, which brought Bulgaria its highest-ever result – second place behind Portugal’s Salvador Sobral.
The 2018 release is a special gift for his global fan community, who have supported him every step of the way.
The song, written by the Moscow-born Kristian, his brother Daniel and his brother’s girlfriend Maria, was produced by the independent Ukrainian team Dynamika Production that he met while in Kyiv this spring.
Kristian says:
A lot of my friends from Russia were worried that I was going to Ukraine for Eurovision back in May, mainly because of the tension between the two countries. I personally never worried about it because I knew that the Ukrainian people are extremely hospitable. And I was right . I had the time of my life in Kyiv and met some amazing Ukrainians that I still keep in touch with and will work in the future.
About Kristian Kostov
The silver at Eurovision has been a major highlight in Kristian’s career so far. He received a hero’s welcome when he returned home to Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, following the Eurovision Grand Final.
He was ranked number two in Google’s annual chart for the most searched celebrities in Bulgaria this year, just after the world’s number three-ranked tennis player and 2017 ATP Finals winner Grigor Dimitrov.
What is in store in 2018
2018 will be a busy year for Kristian Kostov. On 17 January, he will take part in the European Border Breakers Awards ceremony in Groningen, the Netherlands, where he will be the first artist from Bulgaria or Russia to receive the award.
Kristian is also collaborating with fellow successful 2018 Eurovision act, Jowst from Norway, with the song to be released this spring.
His first EP is expected to be released before the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, which will take place on 8, 10 and 12 May.
Bulgaria in Eurovision
Bulgaria debuted in Eurovision in 2005 with Kafe is and yet to win the contest, whilst the country achieved its best result in 2017 with Kristian Kostov’s Beautiful mess, nearly walking away with the Grand Prix (placing 2nd in Kyiv).
