The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has asked the host broadcaster of this year's Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), Latvian Television (LTV), to shoot the so-called video postcards of the contest again the next week. Estonian Radio reported that today, based on an article in a Latvian newspaper, Diena.

The EBU described the postcards to be too static to show them to the whole world. They were produced by the ex-executive producer of the ESC, Arvids Babris.

It is not quite clear when EBU expressed its thoughts about the postcards. Babris mentioned last autumn, but the Head of the Press Ingrida Smite says that it was in March this year.

The first set of postcards will be broadcasted only on the internet and on LTV 7 on May 24th. The audience in the Skonto hall and the rest of Europe will see the second set.

The new postcards are going to be filmed the next week under the direction of the creative producer of this year's contest, Marius Bratten.
