This year's Azerbaijani Eurovision Song Contest singer Safura is currently in Sweden recoding a new version of her potential entry Souless. She is meeting with Eurovision specialist as part of her her preparations for the song contest in Oslo. In coordination with Euromedia and Luxen Group of Companies Safura is staying in Stockholm for a short period of time to work on part of her new album and take part in photo shoots for the albums cover and future promotional campaign.
The Azerbaijani singer is working with Swedish sound engineers, designers, make-up specialists, vocal coaches as part of her Eurovision preparation. Following her trip to Sweden Safura will travel to Kyiv to record another part of her album and to shoot a music video for her Eurovision song. Speaking of about her Eurovision Song Contest project Safura said, I’ve dreamt about it all my life! It’s crazy for me – all this talented people around, everybody’s trying to help me to become the best. Loved photo shoots, because I like to change styles. And vocal coaches helped me a lot, it’s great experience for me.
The song that Safura will perform in the Eurovision Song Contest has yet to be decided. During the national final she performed Drip drop, written by Stefan Örn and Sandra Bjurman, Under my skin, written by Stefan Örn and Sandra Bjurman and Soulless, written by Anders Lundström. A final decision will be made by a professional jury very shortly on whether to send one of these songs to the Eurovision Song Contest or if Safura will be provided with a new song. It is expected that this decision will be made on 19th March.
In 2009, Azerbaijan was represented by Aysel & Arash, who finished second in the second semi-final and third in the grand final with their song Always. In 2010, the country will compete in the second semi- final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 27th May
