Another show down in Israel and a further 3 artists have advanced to the next stage of the country’s national selection for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest: The Next Star.
In tonight’s shorter episode of The Next Star, auditions continued in which artists from across the nation performed to the audience and jury in the hope of proceeding to the next stage of the contest.
Being rated by the audience together with the 4-member judging panel, consisting of Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat and Assaf Amdursky, this evening saw a total of 3 artists qualifying and advancing in the contest, 2 of whom received the 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote needed to proceed.
Tonight’s advancing artists
- Howie Danao (81%, ‘Yes’ from 3 judges)
- Amit Moshe Oren (75%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)
- Or Abramov (52%*, ‘Yes’ from 2 judges)
*Whilst Or Abramov received under the asking 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote, a new twist in the show saw the 2 hosts, Assi Azar and Rotem Sela, save the artist and therefore advance to the next stage.
Receiving the highest percentage of votes in tonight’s Next Star episode was the first auditionee of the show, Howie Danao, performing his version of one of Ed Sheeran’s biggest hits, Don’t. Check out Danao’s audition!
