Tonight, Selecţia Naţională 2010 was held. 16 acts competed in the Romanian national final for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest and at the end of the voting it was decided that Paula Seling & Ovi will represent the country in Oslo with the song Playing with fire written by Ovi Martin himself.

The esctoday.com poll voters widely agreed with the results. Although the clear poll favourites Luminiţa Anghel, Tony Tomas & Adrian Piper (32.5%) finished only second in the national final, the winner Paula Seling & Ovi had finished second in the poll with 13.6%.

The 2010 esctoday.com National Final Awards will be held between April and May, which means between the national final season and the Eurovision Song Contest. We will repeat the same format with two rounds for nominations which was used this year – you can read how it works here. However, this time the individual polls for each country will always be held right after the national final, when the entries are still fresh. You can vote for your favourite performance not to qualify in the Romanian national final here and for your favourite song not to qualify here.

In 2009, Romania was represented by Elena Georghe, who finished ninth in the first semi final and 19th in the final her song The Balkan girls. In 2010, the country will compete in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 27th May.
