Greece: Final songs online ahead of schedule

Following a landslide of developments in the Greek Eurovision Song Contest preselection this year, ERT, the country's national broadcaster, held a meeting this evening where it was decided that to avoid further leaks and protect the remaining artists the songs will be made available tonight.

Just like in previous years for 2010, ERT required that the finalist songs are not made public until the set date of the official presentation. Following Eleftheria Eleftheriou's disqualification a few days ago when her song was leaked on the internet by parties unknown so far, rumours have been soaring on local TV that more songs were about to be leaked.

In an urgent meeting held this evening, ERT executives decided to move forward the date of the release of the seven songs in the running in order to protect them from malicious acts which could result in further disqualifications.

All song can be listened to here. As the names of the artists are in Greek, please use the guide below.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
