It’s only been a few days since Eurofans have been able to buy tickets for Melodifestivalen 2018. Almost three months before the first televised show of the Swedish national selection, rumours are circulating concerning possible contestants.

Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet revealed information that famous duo Samir & Viktor has allegedly been contacted by the Swedish national broadcaster SVT to take part to Melodifestivalen 2018.

The duo already participated in 2015 with the title Groupie, and again in 2016 with Bada Nakna. Very successful in Scandinavia, Samir & Viktor reached the national final on both occasions.

A third bid for Eurovision

Appearing on national and international charts since their debut in 2014, Samir Badran and Viktor Frisk released their new single Rakt in i Kalket earlier this month, though it will not be the song the duo perform at Melodifestivalen if reports are true.

Rumours began immediately after Samir & Viktor appeared on social media along with songwriters Linnea Deb, Joy Deb and Anton Hård af Segerstad which are the authors of popular Melodifestivalen acts like Busy doing nothing of Ace Wilder, You of Robin Stjernberg and Statements of Loreen.

Melodifestivalen 2018 will begin on 3 February 2018 in Karlstad. As announced by the SVT last week, David Lindgren will host the show. Listen to Rakt in i Kalket here:
