Tonight, the second out of four semi finasl of Melodifestivalen 2010, the Swedish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, was held. Out of eight competing acts, two were chosen to advance to the grand final. Two others will be given a second chance in Andra chansen.
The following two acts will compete in the national final on 13th March:
- Eric Saade – Manboy

The following two acts will enter the second chance round on 6th March:
- Pauline – Sucker for love
(Fredrik Ödesjö, Andreas Levander, Johan Wetterberg/Pauline Kamusewu) - Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän – Underbart

The results
The qualifiers were chosen in two rounds of voting. The winner of the first round was Eric Saade and he directly qualified for the final of Melodifestivalen 2010. The top thre had already been removed before the voting in the first round was closed. They were Andra Generationen & Dogge Dolito, MiSt & Highlights and Anna-Maria Espinosa. The remaining four acts competed in the second round of the voting and Andreas Johnson directly qualified for the final being the winner with Pauline and Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän making it to the second chance round.
This was the second of four semi finals. Another eight acts will compete in the second semi final next Saturday.

The esctoday.com poll voters widely agreed with the voters in the semi final. Poll winner Eric Saade (27.5%) also won the semi final. The other qualifier Andreas Johnson had finished fourth in the poll with 10.8%. Poll runner-up Pauline (16.2%) made it to the second chance round. Still, the other Andra chansen qualifiers Kalle Moraeus & Orsa Spelmän had only finished seventh in the poll with 7.4%.
In 2009, Sweden was represented by Malena Ernman with the song La voix. She finished fourth in the first semi final but dropped to 21st place in the final getting 33 points.
