Very pleasant news is around regarding a former Eurovision participant, who – according to her Eurovision entry – was desirous of getting married! Eventually, the 2013 Finnish Eurovision participant Krista Siegfrids got married last Saturday to her beloved partner Janne Grönroos, a Finnish comedian. The couple had been together since their puberty.

The wedding ceremony took place in Krista’s hometown Kaskinen in Western Finland. Following their vows of eternal and mutual love and devotion, Krista posted on her social media a very romantic picture of the couple looking at each other in an autumn landscape in the countryside.

Krista at Eurovision

Singer Krista Siegfrids took part and won the Finnish national selection process Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2013 with the song Marry Me!. Although she received a poor result at Eurovision, as she came 24th out of 26 countries in the Final, her appearance is quite memorable. Krista’s kiss to a female dancer right after her stage performance was enough to cause lot of contoversy around Europe and beyond. According to her, this was to urge her country Finland to legalize same-sex marriage.

Here’s her performance at the 2013 Eurovision Grand Final:

Krista has made two more attempts to go to Eurovision again; this time for Sweden. She took part in Melodifestivalen 2016 and 2017 with her entries Faller and Snurra min jord respectively. However, she was eliminated in the semi-finals both times.

Here at ESCToday, we’re wishing Krista and her husband all the best and a lifetime of love and happiness!
