VRT, the Belgian national broadcaster has confirmed to ESCToday that it will be disclosing the name of the 2018 Belgian candidate tonight. Thus Belgium is the first country to reveal its Eurovision hopeful for Lisbon.

Who will follow Blanche’s footsteps in Portugal next year? The mystery will be over tonight as Belgium is set to let the cat out of the bag! Who will defend the Belgian colours in Lisbon? A girl, a boy or a band?…

The reveal will take place tonight circa 23:00 CEST on the famous talk show Van Gils & gasten aired on Één.

Belgium in Eurovision

Belgium is one of the founder members of the Eurovision Song Contest having debuted in the very first contest in 1956. The country has won the competition once, namely in 1986 with Sandra Kim. In 1987, Brussels successfully hosted the contest.

In 2017, Belgium was one of the hot favorites to belt the Grand Prix, Blanche achieved an honorable 4th place in Kyiv.

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 8, 10 and 12 May.
