Ainhoa Cantalapiedra will be bidding to represent Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo with the song Volveré ( I'll return). She tried to represent Spain in 2003 when she competed at the Spanish Eurovision national final, after winning the 2nd edition of Operación Triunfo in 2003. She was beaten by Beth in the competition, who went on to represent Spain with the song Dime in Riga.
Ainhoa's song Volveré hasbeen composed by the same team behind the 2007 Spanish Eurovision national final runner-up La reina de la noche, Rafael Artesero and José Juan Santana (OGAE Spain coordinator). Rafael Artesero was also the composer behindthe 2005 and 2006 Andorran Eurovision entries. José Juan Santana was one of the authors behind the 2009 Montenegrin entry, Just get out of my life, sung by Andrea Demirovic.
As you all remember, Ainhoa was one of the hot favourites to represent Spain at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, when she won the 2nd edition of Operación Triunfo. Her quest to represent Spain fell through due to health problems, changes in the rules and regulations of the talent show and the fact that she was not comfortable with the songs she had been proposed to sing. She didn't identify herself neither with the style nor with the genre.
Ainhoa released her latest album, Imperfecta, last April. The Spanish artist has expressed her confidence andenthusiasm, mentioning that if given the chance she would be more than honoured to represent Spain at the fortchcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. She feels that she has finallyfound the rightsong to make a comeback to the Eurovision scene after a 7-year gap.
