The show is starting!

The two hosts welcome the audience and the eight artists to compete tonight are introduced.

First duel

1. Skanksters Life is here today

Current esctoday.com poll result: 6th (1.4%)

Skanksters – who qualified as a wildcard for Siste sjansen – consider themselves outsiders in the competition. They still think that their advantage might be that they are able to outnumber soloist Bjørn Johan Muri being a group of six members.

Just like in the semi final, Skanksters deliver a simple but very enthusiastic performance of their happy tune. The stage is colourful, which obviously suits the song best. The vocals are very strong and the audience reacts very positively to this effort. Still, the song might be too much of a stage tune to do well in the Eurovision Song Contest.

2. Bjørn Johan MuriYes man

Current esctoday.com poll result: 3rd (17.4%)

Youngster Bjørn Johan Muri, who can be considered a one-man boygroup, presents a very interesting mid-tempo pop song that is very well produced and has a catchy melody, which is not too intrusive. The vocal performance is rather strong and generally, the singer seems to be more confident on stage tonight. The classic performance with background dancers suits the song very well.

Results: Bjørn Johan Muri has qualified for the second round.

Second duel

1. Gaute Ormåsen Synk eller svøm

Current esctoday.com poll result: 16.0% (4th)

This is the only song på norsk in MGP 2010. Synk eller svøm is a very sticky tune with a perfect arrangement that definitely stands out tonight. Gaute delivers another powerful performance with flawless vocals. This entry might not sink but well swim to the next round and maybe even to the national final in Oslo.

2. Heine TotlandThe best of me is you

Current esctoday.com poll result: =7th (0.9%)

This song reached the top four of the second semi final. The best of me is you is a nostalgic up-tempo show tune, which might not be the most popular song tonight among the younger audience. The vocals are strong but the stage performance and the facial expressions are a bit too enthusiastic making the whole effort slightly synthetical. Nevertheless, the audience reacts positively to this one.

Results:Gaute Ormåsen has qualified for the second round.

Third duel

1. Johnny HideRewind love

Current esctoday.com poll result: =7th (0.9%)

Johnny Hide is the second wildcard qualifier and his song is a very reserved love song whose melody cannot be considered overly catchy. The performance is kept simple and therefore does not help making the song more special than it is. Nevertheless, there have been surprising results in Siste sjansen in recent years, so you should not overlook this song!

2. Mira Craig I'll take you high

Current esctoday.com poll result: 2nd (27.2%)

Mira Craig has qualified for Siste sjansen only last week. She returns with her very special dress, which has obviously not been bought off the peg. The stage lift is still impressive and Mira's unusual voice, which seems to be in better shape tonight, still suits the style of the song perfectly. This was probably the strongest reaction by the audience tonight so far.

Results: Mira Craig has qualified for the second round.

Fourth duel

1. Karoline GarfjellTokyo night

Current esctoday.com poll result: 5th (7.5%)

Karoline Garfjell presents ne of the most unusual songs tonight as it mixes classic Eurodance with an arrangement that features very slight Asian elements. The vocals are almost flawless and the background dancers, who remind of Gwen Stefani's Harajuku girls fit very well in the overall performance.

2. Venke Knutson Jealous 'cause I love you

Current esctoday.com poll result: 1st (28.6%)

The queen of the night returns wit her classic 1990s Europop song Jealous 'cause I love you. The performance still suits the song and this is definitely a fan favourite. Nevertheless, it might be a bit too sweet and harmless to actually impress the televoters in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Results: Venke Knutson has qualified for the second round.
