Mickey Joe Harte, who represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003, has been recording new music and tonight filmed the music video for his latest single.

After taking a break from music to focus on his family, Mickey Joe has plans to release a new album early next year.

His latest single, For the broken hearted, was recorded in Germany earlier this year. The video will be shot in his Irish homeland, with scenes from the wider Mevagh area of Downings and Carrigart.

Earlier today, Mickey Joe called on local residents to volunteer as extras for the video shoot.

All we are asking for is people to come along, get into the scene and help us create the vibe we are looking for. It will be a bit of fun and a good night for anyone who wishes to get involved. It should be a great night’s craic!

The video shoot took place at Logue’s Bar, Carrigart earlier last evening. For the broken hearted will be released as a single later this year.

Mickey Joe Harte represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga, Latvia with the song We’ve got the world. He finished in eleventh place with 53 points.
