NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster has confirmed that Norway will participate at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon next year.

Once again, Norway will select its entry via its traditional national selection Melodi Grand Prix. The deadline for artists/composers to submit their entries has been set on 10 September. Hereafter a special jury will deliberate the 2018 MGP competing entries in November.

In 2017, Norway was represented by JOWST and their entry Grab the moment. The Norwegian duo brought Norway the Top 10 by achieving a 10th place in the Grand Final.

Norway in Eurovision

Norway debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 and has won the competition thrice; Bobbysocks (1985), Secret Garden (1995) and Alexander Rybak (2009).

Eurovision 2018

The 2018 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 8, 10 and 12 May in Lisbon, Portugal.

The deadline for broadcasters to officially apply for Eurovision 2018 concludes by mid September. Hereafter, countries have a grace period to confirm their participation or withdraw their application without a penalty.

The final list of the 2018 Eurovision participating countries is expected to be released by the EBU later during the year.
