New Eurovision Party In London

A special Eurovision Song Contest party is been held on Friday, 29th January at 19.00 GMT at the Two Brewers, Clapham, London. The party is being held as fundraising event for The Pink Singers, Europe's longest-running choir for gay women and men. Organiser are planning a night of fun and entertainment that will include a quiz and a chance to pay tribute to some of the best Eurovision Song Contest songs of the last decade. The Eurovision party will start at 7pm with competion staring at 7:30 sharp and will run until 10:00 pm GMT.

Party goers will have a chance to vote on ten performances, one from each year of the decade. Teams will be made up at the start of the night – one to represent each country. At the end of the ten performances the result will be announced in true Eurovision style.

The ten songs competing are:

2000 – NORWAY – My Heart Goes Boom – Charmed
2001 – GREECE – Die For You – Antique
2002 – UK – Come Back – Jessica Garlick
2003 – SPAIN – Dime – Beth
2004 – SWEDEN – It Hurts – Lena Philipsson
2005 – MALTA – Angel- Chiara
2006 – ROMANIA – Tornero – Mihai Traistariu
2007 – RUSSIA – Song 1 – Serebro
2008 – UKRAINE – Shady Lady – Ani Lorak
2009 – ICELAND – Is It True – Yohanna

Doors will open at 7pm with competion start at 7:30 running until 10.00 GMT.

Entrance free is £5.00 on the door with proceeds going to the Pink Singers the London LGBT Community Choir (www.pinksingers.co.uk ). The admission free includes access to the regular late night cabaret and club at the Two Brewers at no extra cost. Eurovision Song Contest songs will be played in the club throughout the night.
