Results: Two acts qualified in Norway

The third and last semi final of MGP 2010, the Norwegian national selection for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest was held tonight. The last seven acts presented their songs and another two were chosen to compete in the grand final.

The following acts will compete in the national final on 6th February:

  • A1 Don't wanna lose you again
    (Ben Adams, Mark Read, Christian Ingebrigtsen)
  • Didrik Solli-TangenMy heart is yours
    (Hanne Sørvaag, Fredrik Kempe)

The following acts will compete in the second chance round on 30th January:

  • Mira Craig I'll take you high
    (Mira Craig)
  • Karoline GarfjellTokyo night
    (Aggie Peterson)

This was the third of three semi finals. Next week, the last chance round Siste sjansen will be held, which will see the third and fourth placed acts along with another two wildcards compete for the last two spots in the final.

The esctoday.com poll voters agreed 100% with the results in the semi final. Didrik-Solli Tangen and A1 had finished 1st and 2nd in the poll with 35.3 and 23.5% respectivly and they were also the top two in the televoting who qualified for the final. Mira Craig and Kaoline Garfjell had finished 3rd and 4th in the poll with 15.7% and 11.8% respectively and they qualified for Siste sjansen.

In 2009, Norway was represented by Alexander Rybak, who won both the second semi final and the final with his song Fairytale. Norway is therefore the host country of the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest and directly qualified for the final.
