A number of Romanian composers are currently faced with a situation as a recently introduced rule by TVR excludes any songs that have been made public from the running of the countrys national preselection for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.
Until 2009, TVR used to follow the set EBU rule concerning the publication date of the songs which were to compete in the Romanian national preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest. All songs could be eligible as long as they had not been published before October 1st. On 7th of December, TVR changed its regulations and does no longer accept songs that have been released before the preselection takes place, which means the 25th, 26th and 27th of January 2010. Many local composers, though, had already gone ahead and made their songs public on various sites, including esctoday.com, radios and televisions respecting the regulation that was running by that time. As a result of the new regulation now these songs are technically not eligible to participate, among them entries by the Blaxy Girls, Anda Adam and Xonia.
