In an interview appearing today on the Turkish newspaper Milliyet, Sebnem Ferah, one of the artists shortlisted by the Turkish public broadcaster TRT to represent the country at Eurovision 2010, has withdrawn from the race. Sebnem says that Eurovision is no longer a musical contest and her plans do not include a Eurovision participation at the moment.

Sebnem Ferah wondered if she should do Eurovision, and she found that she did not fancy the idea of competing in the paneuropean event. The Turkish singer thinks that Eurovision is not a musical competition anymore and states that her musical future does not comprise a participation in the contest.

After Sebnem Ferah's rejection, two acts remain in the race to represent Turkey next May in Oslo: the group Manga and Emre Aydin. The final decision is expected to be announced in the coming days.
