Our partners at eurovision-spain.com have been conducting an online poll during the past weeks in order to find out the Spanish fans' preferences on the artists who should represent the country at Eurovision. The outcome has been announced tonight, and the artist who tops the voting is Mónica Naranjo, one of the most influential Spanish singers since the late 90s.

Mónica Naranjo was born in Figueres, Catalonia, on May 23rd 1974. She shot to fame first in Mexico in the mid-1990s, returning to her native Spain a few years later. She would achieve major success with hits like Desátame, Sobreviviré, Chicas malas, Empiezo a recordarte or Europa, one of her latest releases.

There are other acts that have gathered big support from the voters, such as Chenoa (3rd runner-up at Operación Triunfo 1), Mirela (known by her participations at the Spanish national finals in 2007, 2008 and 2009), Marta Sánchez (one of Spain's most established artists) or Rosa (Spanish representative at Eurovision 2002). You can have a look at the full list here .
