The votes for the fourth annual esctoday.com awards have been cast over the last three and a half weeks and now it is time to reveal the results. We continue with the Best choreography award

The 2009 esctoday.com Award for Best choreography goes to…

Hallgrim Hansegård, Sigbjørn Rua and Torkjell Lunde Børsheimof the Frikar Dance Company supported Alexander Rybak on stage at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 when he won both the second semi final and the grand final with his song Fairytale.

The winners

This is the second esctoday.com award for Norway this year and the third one overall. Previous awards have went to Norway for Lyricist of the year in 2008 and Best male performance in 2009. The award for Best choreography is given out for the first time this year.

Hallgrim Hansegård, Sigbjørn Rua and Torkjell Lunde are all members of the Frikar dance company whose main choreographer is also Hallgrim Hansegård. They picked up the folk-inspired choreography from the Norwegian national final showing their ability of performing acrobatic dance styles. According to their official website, "Basing on 'down to earth'- focused movement techniques FRIKAR dance company has since 2006 developed an unique environment for untamed wilderness on and off dance stages".
