Top British comedian and TV personality Justin Lee Collins is attempting to participate in 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. Rather than singing for the United Kingdom, Justin has taken the challenge of representing another country in the contest. In his search to find a suitable country Justin is considering a number of different possibilities and has this week visited Estonia, Andorra and Spain to explore the possibility of taking in part in their national finals. A camera crew from Tiger Aspect are currently recording Justin's effort for a special documentary to be shown on Channel FIVE in the UK in 2010.

As well searching for a country to represent, Justin has placed an advertisement in this weeks The Stage publication to find a song for his Eurovision campaign. All songs submitted must be in English and must not have had a public performance or have been made publicly available in any format. Composers are invited send a CD, lyric sheet, contact details and brief explanation describing what the song is about. All composers must state their nationality, as this will affect which county the song can be submitted to. Submissions are to be made to Corinne Brown, 5, Soho Square, London, W1D 3QA by 18 December 2009.

Justin is a self-confessed Eurovision Song Contest fan, having watched the contest since an early age. For this Eurovision campaign he has consulted and received support from music experts including EBU officials, journalists, past Eurovision performers, OGAE UK, esctoday.com and fans of the contest.
Over the last few years Justin has established himself to become one of most loved and popular TV performers in the UK with appearances on numerous shows including The Sunday Night Project, alongside fellow comedian Alan Carr. He has hosted a number of Bring Back… shows in which he reunites groups, normally associated with TV shows, or music bands.

Most recently he has appeared on a successful six-part series on Sky1 that showed the comedian taking on challenges to become a mexican wrestler, a surfer, a ballroom dancer, a ten pin bowler, a high diver and a West End star. In these shows Justin would typically show a positive attitude towards the subject matter alongside a gritty determination to succeed in the task at hand. Evidence of Justin’s vocal talent can be seen in the West End episode of Justin’s show in which he takes a starring role in the musical Chicago.
