Since Melodifestivalen 2008, Carola has taken a step back from the media. Now, she is ready to return to the spotlight with a new album, new tour and plans for an international career. The three time Eurovision Song Contest representative and winner has released a new Christmas album.
Carola is back with a brand new album called Christmas in Bethlehem. The album includes two new songs called Finding My Way to Bethlehem and Heaven Turned Out to Be a Child. The album takes musical inspiration from the Orient and Latin America. The album is a mixture of her favorites from the two Swedish christmas albums she have done before and new traditional christmas songs from Italy, Germany, England and USA. There are also guest stars on the album like Mr Paul Potts from Britain's Got Talent 2007 and Gladys del Pilar, one of three members in Afro-Dite, that won Melodifestivalen 2002 with Never let it go. Paul Potts will also be a guest on Carols tour in Oslo and Stockholm.
The Swedish singer also has plans for an international career through the internet: "With the new record label, which is a major Internet company, it is possible to be present in the international market. There is so much I want to stretch myself. I am a popcorn machine that has many different productions of me. We take a bite at a time".
She also says she has met with a known film director about a role in a movie. She is also writing her autobiography: "I'm working on it so we'll see when it comes out. The book will be personal. I have had it in me since the first tour back in 1983. My God, people should know what it really is", says Carola.
