Mid-October, the 20th edition of the British film festival took place in Dinard, Brittany (France) with 6 movies competing, including Sounds like teen spirit which won the prestigious Hitchcock d'argent Audience Award.
Released on the UK’s screens last May, the film is about the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Esctoday published a review by Monty Moncrieff last April 8.“Sounds Like Teen Spirit” (also described as a “popumentary”) has been directed by Jamie Jay Johnson. It follows the lives of the participants of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2007, specifically the entrants from Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Georgia.
In the 2009 Dinard British Film Festival, the movie won the prestigious Hitchcock D’Argent (silver Hitchcock) Audience Award. In the Seattle International film festival 2009 (last June), it received a Special Jury Award and was highly commended by the jury "for excellence in capturing the universal experience of young adults discovering their place in the world". The DVD is available for sale on any web-shopping site, amazon for instance.

The 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, with 17 countries participating. It was won by Belarus, a single point ahead of Armenia.
