This week's Dutch selling list has Gerard Joling number 1 with his latest single Engel van mijn hart, the Dutch version of Angel of the night, one of this year's entries at the country's national selection.
Let’s remember that Gerard was still a member of The Toppers when the group acceped the NOS invitation to represent the country in Moscow. Further arguments led to Joling’s departure.Funny to see that this week’s charts feature Jeroen van der Boom – who replaced Joling in The Toppers – with his latest single, Dat weet je, on 4th position.
Last February 1st, Angel of the night placed 2nd with a grandtotal of 190, 59 points behind the winning song, Shine, but far before the song placed 3rd (No one loves me… – 57 points). By the way, Angel of the night was the jury’s favorite, whereas Shine was the televoters’ winner.

The Toppers failed to qualify for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest final. Gerard Joling represented The Netherlands at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest with Shangri-la and placed 9th.
