UA:PBC the Ukrainian national broadcaster has appointed the 2005 Eurovision host Pavlo Shylko as the official spokesperson for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. Known to many as DJ Pasha, Pavlo will be holding weekly press briefings in order to inform the media about the latest developments in reference to the organization of the Eurovision Song Contest.

When it comes to Eurovision Pavlo Shylko has great experience as he hosted the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv and has been a key person in the Ukrainian ESC delegation in 2006, 2007 and 2009. In ESC 2003 in he was NTU’s commentator in Riga when Ukraine debuted in the competition, whilst in ESC 2004 he read out the Ukrainian results during the voting.  Pavlo was also part of the Azerbaijani delegation in ESC 2010 when Safura represented the Land of fire.

Pavlo is an established television personality at home in Ukraine, having great experience as radio and tv host, entertainer and producer.

Pavlo says:

I have been working in the contest for almost 15 years as a commentator, presenter, contestant consultant and co-producing songs. I agreed to join the contest’s team, because I believe that Eurovision  is a great opportunity for Kyiv and Ukraine to  show Europe that we can produce a world class high level show. It will also be a great chance to attract investors. In May the guests who will  come to  Kyiv will see how a high-level show is organized – thus showcasing  the result of coordinated work of a large team and that people here are working effectively. Henceforth attracting and convincing people to invest here.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv, Ukraine.
