Angel, one of the characters in the United Kingdom's Big Brother house this year is bidding to represent the country at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo. The television station behind the reality television show is backing the bid.

Channel Four's spin-off show, Big Brother's little brother has launched a campaign for signatures, sking viewers to download their 'Angel for Eurovision' petition and getting friends and family to sign it. They will deliver the petitions to the BBC's Eurovision Song Contest team, announcing the number of signatures in the final Big Brother's Little Brother show of the series. The BBC have not commented on the petition.

Angel is Russian born and believes that her Eastern European roots will help her to continue the United Kingdom's recent improvement at the Eurovision Song Contest. Jade Ewen secured fifth place for the country in Moscow earlier this year with her Andrew Lloyd Webber / Dianne Warren penned song It's my time.

The BBC have not yet announced their plans for selecting the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest entry. It is unlikely that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber will repeat last year's selection show and a similar show with another known songwriter, a return to a national final and an internal selection are all possible.
