An ambitious project from and for dedicated Eurovision Song Contest fans is currently under way in Portugal. The organisers aspire to offer the largest Eurovision party ever organised in Portugal with the participation of many Eurostars and music played by well-known DJ Ohrmeister.

The party is organised by OGAE – Portugal, the Câmara Municipal de Setúbal (CMS) and the Festival Internacional de Cinema de Setúbal – Festroia, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year. It will take place on 12th September at the Auditorium José Afonso, an outdoor venue with a capacity of 2.500 guests in Luisa Todi Avenue in the Setubal city centre. It will be hosted by model Kristian Rodic, familiar to Eurofans from the Belgrade Eurocafe, where he was host and entertainer. Responsible for the music in the party will be Eurovision DJ Ohrmeister, the official DJ of both German ESC fanclubs, namely ECG and OGAE Germany.

The first names of Eurostars who will participate in the Portuguese party have now been confirmed: Flor de lis who represented Portugal this year in Moscow, 2008 fan favourite Vania Fernandes, Alenka Gotar who represented Slovenia in 2007, Daz Sampson (United Kingdom 2006), Azucar moreno (Spain 1990), Ricardo Soler (Portuguese preselection 2008) and Eva Danin (Portuguese preselection 2009). More artists will be confirmed soon.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
